  Also known as lawn plugging, the holes punched in the lawn help the lawn absorb water and fertilizer. It also allows for transpiration of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the root zone.

  Lawn thatching removes above ground stems and stolens that develop over time. However, if done improperly, an unknowing contractor can destroy your lawn. Sometimes lawns get sparse and thin. Overseeding can help.
